Schatzi: I was tardy with the picture taking on that big day, but I got a few of plates as they were decimated. All in all, the day went very well.
I made four pies: two pumpkin, one sweet potato (my first ever!), and one pecan-pumpkin. I also made a Gooey Pumpkin Butter Cake. Eli made massive amounts of stuffing, one cornbread and one white bread with sausage. No chestnuts for me, however. Sadness.
Maiya’s turkey was stunning and delicious, as always; she followed Alton Brown’s recipe this year. She also made some fantastic garlic mashed potatoes, a lovely spinach gratin, and the most amazing cheesy scones that have ever graced my mouth. I must have her guest them here! Dad and Gina brought nutmeg sweet potato puree, and cranberries, and Liz provided the tossed green salad.
