melting bacon fat for Bacon-Fried Chicken

Schatzi: Eli wanted to experiment with a fried chicken recipe involving both bacon in the batter and frying the chicken in bacon fat. Of course, I had to let him. I also let him have his head with the rest of the meal, and he cooked up some kale and mashe potatoes, shallots, and roasted garlic. For dessert, we had the classic banana pudding. click here to see Bacon-Fried Chicken!

the Bacon Hamburger Fatty Melt, or My Idea of Heaven

14 November 2008 · Leave a Comment

I don’t know how I missed this, except that I’ve been Internetting a lot less during this schoolterm, but the folks over at A Hamburger Today created the ultimate patty melt: a four ounce beef patty topped with bacon and cheese, with bacon-stuffed grilled cheese sandwiches as buns.  Holy cow pig. A sandwich that might be more nauseatingly appetizing than The Luther Burger.

Thanks, Hutch!

Divine Caroline collected images and their sources of various bacon-wrapped foods from all over the Internets. There were a few I hadn’t seen before, and I am always happy to see more baconized food! I’m especially interested in the bacon-wrapped tofu–yum! Thanks, Handsome Jon!
